About the job:
The Red Hat Information Technology (IT) team is looking for a Communications Engineer to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will support mission-critical unified communication and collaboration services for Red Hat, including voice, video, chat, mail, and calendar systems. You’ll be responsible for communication standards development, implementation of best practices, project planning, management, and daily communications maintenance and support. As a Communications Engineer, you will identify, prioritize, and resolve critical communication and collaboration-related issues that impact business operations. In addition, you will proactively seek to communicate solutions to users and key stakeholders and highlight transitions to preferred emerging technologies that can be used to improve the overall health of the company’s communication and collaboration strategy.
What will you do:

Provide Level 2 and 3 support for communications services for all enterprise business locations.

Act as primary communications support contact for APAC region on the team.

Act as subject matter expert for communications project activities and daily unified communications support

Develop, communicate, and maintain communication standards, operating procedures and knowledge base articles to standardize processes and improve efficiency for all enterprise teams

Work with technical teams to ensure that hardware and software infrastructure is maintained with latest firmware and software requirements

Proactively communicate the status, plans of action, and resolutions of issues

Monitor and report the performance of communications components against KPIs and take preemptive measures to minimize interruptions
-
Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving the overall network health by assessing overall effectiveness and efficiency

Evaluate new technologies and platforms to determine whether their applicability aligns with businesses needs

Monitor communications network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed

Act as point of contact for India DoT compliance audits.
What will you bring:
-
Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field
-
3+ years of experience working in unified communications, IT, and project and business process management
-
Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices

Excellent knowledge of one or more communication systems like RingCentral EX and Contact Center, Slack, Google Workspace, etc.

Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and internet standards, including SIP, TCP/IP, RTMP, DHCP, BOOTP, TLS, and XMPP

Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits

IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) experience
