As a Senior Data Analyst on the Global Merchandise Planning Insights team, you will play a key role in driving strategic planning and performance analysis across global product categories. Based in India, you will support the Manager in delivering financial insights, enabling data-driven decisions, and aligning global strategies with regional execution. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, cross-functional collaboration, and a passion for retail metrics and storytelling through data.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with the Manager to support global merchandise financial planning (MFP) processes across gender, category, and class levels.
Analyze seasonal assortment frameworks and long-range category plans in collaboration with global and cluster teams.
Deliver weekly in-season performance recaps, highlighting risks and opportunities to optimize inventory and sales.
Contribute to seasonal hindsight recaps and support MBR/QBR preparation with clear financial narratives.
Assist in preparing global buy review and investment review materials for executive-level decision-making.
Provide financial inputs during pre-season development milestones, identifying risks and opportunities to revenue and margin targets.
Track performance of key product stories, new fits, and seasonal initiatives to inform future planning cycles.
Conduct ad hoc deep dives into product, category, or channel performance and deliver insights to cross-functional partners.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in merchandise planning, data analytics, or business intelligence.
Strong understanding of retail metrics (e.g., AOV, UPT, sell-through, margin, inventory turns).
Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and statistical analysis.
Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and communicate effectively across teams.
Experience working with global teams and flexibility to collaborate across time zones.
Strong Excel and data visualization skills; familiarity with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar is a plus.
