We at Smith+Nephew, are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior MuleSoft Developer to join our dynamic and growing technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of enterprise integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience, a deep understanding of API-led connectivity, and a proven track record of building robust, scalable, and secure integration solutions.
What will you be doing?- Lead the design and development of APIs and integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Anypoint Studio, API Manager, and CloudHub.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and solution architects, to understand business requirements and define integration architecture.
- Design and develop API specifications using RAML, YAML, or OpenAPI, and implement APIs adhering to API-led connectivity principles.
- Utilize DataWeave for complex data transformations and develop custom connectors or components as needed.
- Implement security protocols such as OAuth 2.0 and mutual SSL for securing APIs and integrations.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues related to MuleSoft integrations and ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee and participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, testing, and deployment.
- Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices for coding, security, and integration processes.
- Establish and maintain robust Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Maven and Jenkins.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, API documentation, and deployment procedures.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Technology, or equivalent field (required).
- Licenses/ Certifications: MuleSoft Certified Developer (Level 1) or MuleSoft Certified Integration/Platform Architect certifications.
- Possess 5+ years of hands-on experience in integration development, including at least 3 years working with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
- Experienced in using version control repositories such as GitHub and SVN.
- Strong knowledge of RAML implementation.
- Well-versed in integration patterns and API implementation following API-led architecture.
- Skilled in error handling techniques and applying design patterns for scalable integrations.
- Proficient in managing the deployment lifecycle for Mule applications.
- Capable of designing solutions, evaluating technical options, proposing alternate approaches, and recommending the best-fit solutions.
- Experienced in MuleSoft development projects, with involvement in both development and testing phases of enterprise application integration initiatives.
- Knowledgeable in CI/CD processes from a Mule deployment perspective.
- Proven experience as a MuleSoft developer across multiple projects.
- Familiar with and able to work effectively within Agile development methodologies.
- Highly motivated, eager, and enthusiastic about learning new languages and technologies.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Able to propose and build new solutions, with the ability to take ownership of projects independently.
- Possess strong expertise in designing and developing APIs (REST/SOAP) and implementing API-led connectivity solutions.
- Proficient with key MuleSoft components such as Anypoint Studio, DataWeave, API Manager, and Runtime Manager.
- Strong understanding of integration design patterns, including event-driven architecture, messaging (AMQP, JMS), and batch processing.
- Experienced testing with MUnit and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid knowledge of Java, XML, JSON, and web service standards.
- Experienced with SQL and NoSQL databases, including writing complex queries.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively within an Agile/Scrum team environment.
- Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, ELK, or Anypoint Monitoring.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Previous experience in a specific industry, such as insurance, healthcare, or retail.
