In This RoleYou will join a small, fast-moving team building a brand-new casual game powered by modern web technologies. This role is highly collaborative, working closely with engineering, production, and design to deliver responsive, performant, and visually polished game experiences. You will translate detailed design specifications into refined UI components, enhance the team’s design system, and contribute to shipping features in rapid, iterative sprints. Success in this position requires excellent front-end engineering fundamentals, strong problem-solving skills, and a high bar for quality and pixel-perfect craftsmanship.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Engineering, Production, and Design partners to deliver high-quality features for a new web-based game title.
Translate Figma designs, interaction specs, and prototypes into production-ready, accessible UI components and pages.
Enhance and maintain the existing design system, framework utilities, and shared component libraries.
Ensure pixel-perfect visual polish by refining UI details, fixing defects, and bringing implementations to spec.
Participate in code reviews, contributing to established engineering standards for quality, accessibility, and security.
Plan, track, and communicate work progress using project and task management tools.
Integrate data using RESTful APIs, handling JSON payloads, error states, pagination, and caching strategies.
Instrument new features for telemetry, performance, logging, and error handling where applicable.
Support performance profiling, troubleshooting, and optimization for a smooth, responsive gameplay experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.
5–7 years of professional front-end engineering experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience with modern CSS (including responsive design, SCSS, animations, transitions).
Minimum 3 years of experience with TypeScript (TS/TSX).
Minimum 3 years of experience with SolidJS or directly comparable modern framework experience plus demonstrated SolidJS capability.
Strong proficiency with HTML5, JavaScript (ES6+), and web UI component architectures.
Experience with front-end build tools such as Webpack, Vite, and Node.js-based tooling.
Familiarity with Git-based workflows and development environments (VS Code, Azure DevOps, or similar).
Ability to translate design tokens, constraints, and interaction patterns from tools like Figma.
Proven capability in debugging, profiling, and optimizing front-end performance.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work in a self-directed and fast-paced environment.
Experience delivering pixel-perfect UI implementations for interactive applications or games.
Solid understanding of single-page application patterns including routing, state management, and modular component design.
Experience with responsive and reactive design, including mobile-first and touch-input ergonomics.
Familiarity with WCAG 2.x AA accessibility guidelines (semantics, ARIA usage, keyboard and focus management).
Experience working with HTML Canvas, web game loops, or other web-based gameplay concepts.
Strong background in performance optimization, including frame-rate tuning and reducing UI/layout thrash.
Knowledge of web security practices such as XSS prevention, CSRF mitigation, and secure client-side data handling.
Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $88,000 to $98,000 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
