Indian medical device manufacturer Biorad Medisys has launched a new subsidiary, Medtimo Inc., marking its official entry into the U.S. healthcare market and a significant step in the company’s global expansion strategy.

Medtimo Inc. was established following Biorad Medisys’ acquisition of business assets from ReShape Lifesciences, which have since been rebranded under the new name. According to a company news release, the subsidiary will focus on delivering advanced healthcare solutions, with an initial emphasis on two products: Lap-Band, a long-term weight loss solution, and Stimel-03, a neurological rehabilitation therapy designed for stroke patients.

In a statement, Biorad Medisys’ Jitendra Hegde said the launch reflects the company’s long-term commitment to the U.S. market and confidence in Medtimo’s leadership team.

“Together, we are well positioned to accelerate innovation, broaden patient access to advanced therapies and strengthen our presence in multiple critical areas of healthcare, including obesity, Type 2 diabetes and neurological rehabilitation,” Hedge explained.
