Bridgestone India Private Limited, a subsidiary of international tire and rubber products manufacturer Bridgestone Corporation, plans to invest $85 million in its Pune and Indore production plants. The company also announced the establishment of a satellite tech center at its Pune facility.

Established in 1996, Bridgestone India has more than 3,000 employees working throughout the country. With its latest investment, the company aims to boost its production capacity and reinforce its position as a leader in the Indian market. By 2029, production capacity at the Pune plant is expected to increase by about 1.1 million tires annually, according to a statement from the company. Expansion is set to begin in early 2025.

The new satellite tech center for Bridgestone India will be responsible for creating products that the release says are “customized optimally for the Indian market.” It will also work to advance the company’s engineering capabilities across areas like material planning, product design and manufacturing.
