GE Aerospace has announced a $14 million investment to expand and modernize its Pune manufacturing facility, focusing on advanced processes and automation, as the site nears its 10th year of operations.

An announcement issued Thursday stated that since its opening, the facility has grown into a key supplier of aerospace components for the company’s global commercial engine operations, supported by a network of more than 300 suppliers. The site has also played a significant role in developing regional talent, training over 5,000 production associates in precision manufacturing techniques and contributing to the local economy.

“Our team in Pune has built strong capabilities, and with the support of a country-wide network of suppliers, has delivered components for some of our most advanced commercial jet engines, with safety and quality at the forefront. This investment reflects our commitment to the Make in India initiative and to advancing India’s role in global aerospace manufacturing,” GE’s Vishwajit Singh said in a statement.

GE stated the facility’s success has been driven by FLIGHT DECK, its proprietary lean operating model, which has reportedly reduced waste, improved process efficiency, increased output and enhanced shop floor safety.
