Job Description:

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Data Security Architect to join our security team. This role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's data security framework. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data security architectures, with hands-on experience in Microsoft 365, Microsoft Purview, and Zscaler Internet Access. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of cloud security, data governance, and network security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize data security architectures for cloud-based platforms, with a focus on Microsoft 365, Microsoft Purview, and Zscaler Internet Access.

  • Lead the deployment of security measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data across organizational systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and enforce data security policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Work with Microsoft 365 security features, including Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Information Protection, to safeguard data assets.

  • Leverage Microsoft Purview to manage data classification, compliance, and governance, ensuring adherence to data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).

  • Design and implement secure access and network perimeter solutions utilizing Zscaler Internet Access for safe and efficient cloud-based traffic routing and protection.

  • Conduct risk assessments and identify vulnerabilities in current data security systems, proposing and implementing improvements.

  • Monitor and respond to potential security incidents, ensuring data protection measures remain effective.

  • Stay up to date with emerging data security technologies and industry trends, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure the security infrastructure meets regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Provide guidance and training on data security best practices to internal stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Data Security Architect, Security Engineer, or in a similar role.

  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 security features and tools (Microsoft Purview, Intune, Exchange Online Protection, SharePoint, and OneDrive).

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Purview for data governance, data classification, compliance monitoring, and eDiscovery.

  • Expertise in Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and its integration with enterprise security architecture, ensuring secure access and traffic management for cloud-based services.

  • Expertise in Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) Data Loss Prevention and Cloud Browser Isolation.

  • Experience in designing and implementing cloud-based data security strategies (e.g., encryption, identity and access management, secure data sharing).

  • Proficiency in risk management, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments.

  • Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA) and their impact on data security.

  • Strong understanding of network security, identity management, and access control mechanisms.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
