ROLE OVERVIEW:  

Skillsoft is currently seeking a highly qualified Technical Product Manager – AIThe ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AI a strong background in building SAAS products with AIAs an AI Product Manager, your role is pivotal in planning, execution and delivery bridging the gap between intricate AI technologies and the evolving needs of users. The role involves defining product specifications, shaping the product roadmap, and prioritizing features in collaboration with engineers, data scientists, and design teams. The focus is on utilizing AI to develop transformative products and learning experiences. Balancing business objectives with technological capacities, you will strategize product development, prioritize user requirements, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the success and market resonance of the AI-enhanced products. 

 

OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS and Key RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Collaborate with management and other product owners to build a comprehensive product strategy. 

  • Actively manage and maintain the product roadmap and backlog of user stories 

  • Research, document and drive changes to products including new features, minor enhancements, and defects 

  • Participate in an Agile process with Engineering and QA to manage and groom the backlog of work, refine requirements, estimate work effort and plan day-to-day product development activities 

  • Participate in acceptance testing for every release 

  • Collaborate with User Experience Designers to help build a UX strategy, develop feature-level designs, and usability testing 

  • Assist in conducting market research and analysis of competitive landscape 

  • Contribute to and review product release notes, user manuals and training material 

  • Work with cross-functional teams to help develop and implement a go-to-market plan 

  • Support product release activities including release planning, product training, demonstrations, and customer presentations 

  • Provide on-going product support to direct sales and channel sales organizations helping them to understand product positioning and key benefits​ 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Technical Acumen: A strong grasp of data science and a robust understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and related technologies is fundamental.  Use of AI for productivity and efficiency in day-to-day work.  

  • Strategic Thinking: The ability to align product strategies with overall business goals while identifying opportunities for growth. 

  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential for successful collaboration; written, verbal, and organizational skills 

  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with agile practices helps manage iterative development and rapid prototyping. 

  • Demonstratable Competency in: 

  • Product execution – feature specification, quality assurance and acceptance, product delivery and go-to-market commercialization. 

  • Customer insight – fluency with data, UX design principles and best practices, voice of customer 

  • Product strategy – product vision and road mapping, strategic impact 

  • Influencing people – stakeholder management, team leadership, managing up 

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience as a SAAS Product Manager in a technology-driven field, preferably with direct exposure to AI product management 

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, entrepreneurial start-up environment 

  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence or other Agile software development tools is desired 

  • Experience working with virtual teams is desired 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills 

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field is highly desirable
