Senior Citrix Consultant

Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will work closely with the in-house and client-side teams of one of our esteemed UK based clients. The primary responsibility of this role is to design, implement, support, and continuously enhance enterprise End User Computing (EUC) and Digital Workspace platforms, with a strong focus on Citrix technologies and virtual desktop solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Citrix professional who is passionate about delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing digital workspace solutions while supporting infrastructure modernization and workplace transformation initiatives.
We are looking for someone with strong technical expertise, proven experience in Citrix and VDI environments, and the ability to support both operational stability and strategic technology initiatives across complex enterprise environments.
Responsibilities:
• Citrix Platform Management:
Design, implement, administer, and optimize Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, Citrix Gateway (NetScaler), StoreFront, PVS/MCS, and related workspace technologies.
• Workspace Modernization:
Lead and support initiatives involving Windows 11 VDI, FSLogix, profile management, application virtualization, application layering, and cloud-enabled workplace solutions.
• Infrastructure Transformation:
Deliver platform upgrades, environment consolidations, datacentre migrations, technology refreshes, high availability solutions, and workspace transformation projects.
• Microsoft Workplace Technologies:
Administer and support Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management solutions.
• Platform Performance & Support:
Monitor system health, troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement improvements to enhance platform reliability, security, and user experience.
• Solution Design & Technical Leadership:
Contribute to solution architecture, technical design, proof-of-concept activities, documentation, and provide subject matter expertise across project and operational teams.
• Automation & Continuous Improvement:
Develop automation solutions, streamline operational processes, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization, and service quality.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Experience:
10+ years of experience in Citrix, EUC, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), or Digital Workspace engineering and consulting roles.
• Citrix Expertise:
Strong hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, Citrix Gateway (NetScaler), StoreFront, Provisioning Services (PVS), Machine Creation Services (MCS), and Citrix Cloud technologies.
• Workspace Technologies:
Experience with FSLogix, Citrix Profile Management (UPM), application virtualization, application layering, and non-persistent desktop environments.
• Microsoft Technologies:
Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and
Microsoft 365.
• Infrastructure Knowledge:
Experience supporting VMware and/or Hyper-V environments, SQL Server, clustering technologies, storage platforms, networking fundamentals, and high-availability solutions.
• Migration & Transformation Experience:
Proven experience delivering Citrix upgrades, datacenter migrations, platform consolidations, workplace modernization initiatives, and large-scale infrastructure transformation projects.
• Automation & Scripting:
Experience with PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation.
• Communication & Problem Solving:
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and communication skills with the ability to operate effectively in customer-facing environments.
• Certifications (Preferred):
Citrix, Microsoft Azure, VMware, or other relevant industry certifications.
• Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
