About this role
This role sits within Preqin, a part of BlackRock. Preqin plays a key role in how we are revolutionizing private markets data and technology for clients globally, complementing our existing Aladdin technology platform to deliver investment solutions for the whole portfolio.
Role and responsibilities :In this role, you will be part of the Investment Valuation Services team that is responsible for investment monitoring and valuation process for our clients investing in private equity, private debt, private infrastructure, and private real estate portfolios.
Monitoring and gathering information from news sources, flagging of transactions for valuation adjustments
Preparation of investment valuation adjustments for fund investments (both primary and secondary), which mainly relates to the fair value adjustment process of underlying portfolio companies held indirectly within fund investments
Working on daily, monthly and quarterly investment valuation and monitoring process around partnership fund investments
Consolidation and finalization of month end valuations per reporting timelines
Collaborate with external parties (service providers, auditors etc.) on valuation-related matters
Contribute to development and improvement of existing monitoring, valuation and reporting tools and processes
University degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
CA, CPA, CFA, CAIA, ACCA, or other accounting/ finance certification preferred
3 - 5 years of relevant experience in the financial industry (in controllership, audit or valuation function) with an understanding of different types of financial instruments and valuation concepts
Ability to work with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and multi-cultural environment to achieve clear goals within a short timeframe
Analytical skills, attention to detail and a good team player
Knowledge with SQL queries, programming languages or business analytics software such as Microsoft, Power BI and Qliksense knowledge is preferred
Proficient in MS Office and specifically MS Excel
Good written and verbal English communication skills
