Role Overview: If you are an experienced Software Functional Tester with a passion for FinTech, particularly in OEMS, PMS, FO, and IM, we invite you to apply for this position. You’ll be responsible for designing, maintaining and executing the test cases, validating complex distributed systems, and championing QA for best practices that ensure our technology is robust, compliant, and ready for scale.
Qualifications & Experience (Required):
1+ year of professional software testing and functional test experience.
Proficiency in at least one of the programming languages such as Java/Typescript/VBScript for test automation scripting and framework creation/maintenance.
Experience with at least one automation tool such as Selenium/Playwright/UFT (Unified Functional Testing) using testing frameworks such as Junit/TestNG/POM/Hybrid.
Experience with at least one test management tool such as ALM/TestRail/Xray/Zephyr/JIRA
Familiarity with QA best practices, workflows, and methodologies (Agile, Continuous Testing, Shift-Left Testing).
Knowledge of Equity, Bond, fixed income investments
Securities or financial markets knowledge
SQL query writing skills
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Background in FinTech, BFSI or other highly regulated, mission-critical domains.
Knowledge of programming languages like Python/JavaScript.
Knowledge/Experience with building API, integration, and end-to-end automated tests.
Knowledge of SQL for test data design and validation.
Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g. one of AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) for reproducible test setups.
Knowledge of automation builds tools such as Gradle/Maven.

Responsibilities:
Ensures regulatory reporting provided externally meets satisfactory requirements prior to delivery
Respond quickly, accurately, and thoroughly to internal and external inquiries
Submits defects in code updates and retests and verifies these defects once they are fixed.
Works closely with Software Development Engineers to resolve defects
Apply company policies and procedures to resolve issues.
Collaborate with developers, analysts, and product managers to define test execution and coverage.
Understands and can reference or explain the general workflow, tools, and Clearwater value proposition.
Expectation of employees at this level is to learn as much as possible as work is guided organically by JIRA queue and tasks. Employees should be able to complete JIRA cases with minimal assistance after two months at Clearwater and independently after 6 months.
Adds value through quick, accurate, and thorough responses to inquiries and addressing task hits. Acknowledgement of inquiries should come within an hour.
Develop and maintain reliable test suites for functional, regression, integration, smoke, canary, API, and performance scenarios.
Engineer tools to simulate market events and validate complex financial workflows.
Investigate test failures, conduct root cause analysis, and ensure regression prevention.
Advocate for and implement QA best practices across the SDLC.
Continually evolve functional test scenarios to improve scalability and efficiency.
