Group Description:
We are seeking a driven, analytical, and collaborative Portfolio Analyst to join our Tax-Managed Strategies team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about using data to inform investment decisions, optimize tax management strategies, and contribute to high-impact portfolio research. The role offers strong potential for growth across both investment and client-facing career paths.
What You'll Do:
Research & Quantitative Analysis
- Support our product development research effort by gathering data on trading costs, withholding taxes, shorting fees and more
- Conduct peer and competitor analysis to benchmark performance and strategy
Portfolio Management Support
- Identify and analyze outlier accounts to understand performance deviations
- Produce risk and exposure dashboards
- Prepare quarterly attribution and risk decomposition reports across a wide range of investment products
Tax Management Analytics
- Apply after-tax reporting logic and formulas to large datasets
- Compile after-tax performance data and flag underperforming strategies
- Assist in managing tax estimate communications for equity and alternative products
- Support our mutual fund postponement process
Marketing & Client-Facing Materials
- Update prospect decks and investment presentations
- Write performance commentaries and provide insights to support marketing campaigns
Qualifications, Experience, Education:
This position requires:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) with some math and programming content
- Experience: 5+ years in data analytics, preferably within financial services or investment management
- Technical Skills:
- Strong SQL skills for querying large datasets
- Proficient in Python for data manipulation and analysis
- Comfortable with math-heavy concepts and quantitative modeling
- Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in team settings
- Organized, curious, and eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment
