Summary:
As Sr. Quality Engineering Lead, you are responsible for end-to-end quality ownership across E&D deliverables, ensuring that Testing processes are followed, planned and executed effectively, and automation assets meet quality standards. The role drives risk-based, shift left, component, functional testing, in-sprint automation, and release confidence through measurable quality outcomes and strong stakeholder partnership.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Quality Strategy & Planning
- Own the E&D test strategy across functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end validation
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and execution approach aligned to sprint/release cadence.
- Apply: automate high-ROI stable flows use manual testing for exploratory/volatile areas. In Sprint automation for areas which is required.
- Define entry/exit criteria, test scheduling, and estimation for sprint and release testing.
- Stakeholder Communication on the Test Strategy, Test plan and sign off
Test Execution & Release Readiness
- Lead and execute the Testing across Test Environments and if needed Dev region as well
- Test data strategy: synthetic data, data seeding, environment stability patterns.
- Drive defect lifecycle: severity-based prioritization, triage, root-cause alignment, and prevention mindset.
- Ensure traceability and evidence retention for audit/compliance-ready testing.
Automation Leadership (Playwright + TypeScript)
- Lead/guide test automation using Playwright + TypeScript, including framework standards (POM, tagging, reporting, multi-env runs.
- Establish automation governance: stable locator strategy, flakiness control, refactoring cadence, and CI reliability.
- Ensure baseline skills and onboarding readiness across the team (TypeScript, Playwright APIs, API testing, CI/CD basics, Git workflows).
Agile Operating Model & Collaboration
- Partner with Product/Engineering in an Agile model (e.g., scrum pods and cross-pod E2E coordination)
- Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders manage expectations through structured updates.
- Provide knowledge transfer across distributed teams and support cross-geo collaboration.
Metrics & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report QE metrics such as automation coverage, execution time, stability trends, and defect leakage.
- Identify improvement opportunities and implement more effective methods to increase quality and reduce cost/time

- JIRA & Confluence

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must Have Skills:
Core QA / QE Leadership
- 5+ years working with software developers and project teams.
- 3+ years writing/executing test scripts experience in both manual and automated testing.
- Strong test design: ability to design tests to identify and mitigate risk across different testing types (functional, E2E).
- Experience testing across channels (web/mobile/ where relevant).
- Defect reporting expertise: clear bug reports, reproducible steps, objective feedback to engineering.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively across audiences.
Automation & Modern Tooling Baseline
- Hands-on working knowledge of:
- TypeScript and Playwright
- API testing fundamentals
- Automation framework fundamentals: Basic Understanding
- Delivery & Governance
- Experience aligning QA work to Agile delivery flow (planning in-sprint testing/automation sprint-end regression & signoff).
- Ability to drive standards, metrics, ROI mindset, and compliance expectations for QE deliverables

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 12 years of experience in Selenium.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
- Willingness to work in shift B (11 to 9 or 12 to 10)
