Job Summary

The Associate Contract Manager serves as the primary point of contact for providers which Point32Health needs to negotiate single case agreements, individual contracts, and select small hospitals. This individual will ensure that contract terms are consistent with organizational strategy and are negotiated within the established legal and financial guidelines as established by Point32Health.

Job Description

  • Main point of contact for commercial single case agreement negotiation
  • Main point of contact for behavioral health and medical independent group contract negotiations
  • Main point of contact for negotiation and maintenance of assigned hospital provider contracts
  • Act as subject matter expert on terms and conditions of managed provider contracts for both internal and external constituents.
  • Under the direction of and with assistance from the Manager, Commercial Provider Network Contracting, evaluate provider rate request and bring negotiation to closure at or under budget.
  • Ensure contract terms are accurately communicated internally for implementation
  • Work closely with the legal department to ensure contract provisions are consistent across providers and ensure all applicable legal terms are included in the signed agreement
  • Ensure provider agreements comply with Point32Health policies and business standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed
  • Assist with department projects
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by Manager, Commercial Provider Contracting
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

  • Required: B.S./B.A. degree

EXPERIENCE (minimum years required):

  • Required: Minimum of 3-5 years’ work experience in a professional setting.
  • Proficiency in the use of PC based computers is essential.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of health care is preferred.     

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to identify, understand, research, and solve internal and external issues. 
  • Must recognize and consider the broader business, operational and financial impact of focused, department-specific initiatives, analytic questions and/or decisions.
  • Requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment balancing multiple priorities and utilizing resources aggressively.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills to work with a diversity of individuals from numerous departments and different levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Requires an individual to be detail oriented, organized, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time. 
  • Requires good oral and written communication skills in addition to relationship building skills with both internal and external customers.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (include special requirements, e.g., lifting, travel):

  • Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required.
  • Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations.
  • May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule.
