About this roleOur Global Corporate Actions team has primary operating centers in Edinburgh, Delaware, Gurgaon and Singapore. We strive to offer outstanding Corporate Actions service with controls to mitigate risk. We operate as a single, global entity built around a robust “pass-the-book” philosophy. This allows the effective and controlled transition of workload across our primary locations and enables us to have a good night’s rest!
As an Analyst, you will provide a quality Corporate Action service in accordance with our standard operating procedures to reduce risk to our clients and the firm. This role covers a variety of responsibilities where the team oversees all facets of Corporate action events throughout the event lifecycle. You will serve as a liaison with BlackRock’s Global Custodian network and work on BlackRock’s proprietary operating platform, Aladdin, where there are multiple of applications including the Corporate Actions Manager (CAM).
Responsibilities:- Ensure mandatory corporate action and dividend events across markets and asset types (equities, fixed income, derivatives) are captured, validated, and updated in Aladdin.
- Process all mandatory and voluntary corporate actions (stock splits, dividends, spin-offs, mergers, tenders, consents) in Aladdin application.
- Accurately interpret corporate action information from vendors and record it in the corporate actions system.
- Ensure accurate processing of corporate action entitlements through quality control checks and market valuation impact analysis.
- Process client elections/instructions for voluntary corporate actions accurately and within deadlines.
- Understand linkages between different Aladdin applications and perform entitlement reconciliation and resolve stock and cash exceptions.
- Identify, assess, and implement controls to minimize operational risk inherent in corporate actions processing.
- Escalate material risk items and service issues to senior management promptly.
- Manage queries from internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Support global “Pass The Book” strategy and collaborate with global colleagues to drive process consistency.
- Work closely with business partners, including other Investment Operations teams, to ensure efficient workflows and adopt a ‘One BlackRock’ approach.
- Participate in local, regional, and global projects, including UAT and system testing.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure requirements are understood and delivered as per specifications.
- Support technology teams during build and unit testing phases.
- Stay informed about market and industry developments and assess their impact on corporate actions processes.
- Masters degree in related field (Masters in Finance)
- 7 to 10 years of experience in a Corporate Actions or an Investment Operations / Global Custody role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong risk mitigation attitude: ability to apply judgement as to when to raise issues.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to work directly with clients and across all levels of staff and management.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Focus on continuous improvement and process innovation.
- Data Analytics skills preferred; coding knowledge (VBA, SQL, PYTHON, Power BI, ATX) will be a plus.
