Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop small-to-medium features for Amazon Connect digital experiences (chat/messaging flows, routing logic, integrations)
- Build and maintain backend services using AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB/S3)
- Assist in implementing GenAI capabilities such as:
- Conversation summarization
- Suggested replies (agent assist)
- Write clean, testable code; fix bugs; improve performance and reliability
- Create and update technical documentation (runbooks, simple design notes)
- Monitor services (logs/metrics) and support incident triage with guidance
- Participate in code reviews and learn best practices from senior engineers
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- Software development experience (internships count)
- Knowledge of fundamentals of APIs (REST), JSON, authentication basics
- Knowledge retrieval (basic RAG pattern using approved sources)
- Basic understanding of cloud concepts (compute, storage, networking)
- Familiarity with Git and standard SDLC (branching, PRs, basic CI)
- Programming skills in Python / Java / Node.js (at least one solid)
- Proven solid problem-solving, communication, and willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications:
- Any hands-on experience with Amazon Connect (even training labs)
- Exposure to AWS (any of: Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch)
- Exposure to LLMs / GenAI (prompting, simple API usage, RAG basics)
- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (pytest / JUnit / Jest)
- Awareness of security basics (PII handling, least privilege concepts)
