The Technical SEO Lead will be responsible for ensuring the technical health and performance of BlackRock’s digital properties across global markets. This role is primarily technical—focused on optimizing site architecture, speed, crawlability, and indexability to maximize organic visibility and user experience across traditional search and LLMs. As search evolves toward AI-powered discovery, the Technical SEO Lead will play a critical role in future-proofing our websites, leveraging advanced tools and collaborating with development teams to implement technical improvements that drive measurable impact. In addition to technical execution, this role will own SEO reporting, partnering with global teams to deliver insights that inform strategy and performance.
Role and Impact :
A Technical SEO/GEO Lead develops and executes advanced strategies to optimize a website's visibility in both traditional search engines (SEO) and emerging generative AI platforms (GEO), focusing on the technical architecture, crawlability, and structured data. The role involves a combination of technical expertise, data analysis, and cross-functional leadership. As search evolves toward AI-powered discovery, the Technical SEO Lead will play a critical role in future-proofing our websites, leveraging advanced tools and collaborating with development teams to implement technical improvements that drive measurable impact.
Responsibilities:
Technical Auditing & Monitoring: Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits using Conductor and related tools to identify issues related to crawlability, indexability, site speed, international language targeting and structured data.
Implement Structured Data: Build, optimize, and manage schema markup and semantic data to help machine learning models and search engines better understand the content and context of the website.
Issue Resolution: Collaborate with development teams to implement technical fixes for crawl errors, slow load times, and JavaScript rendering problems.
Performance Analysis: Analyze website data, including organic search performance and technical metrics, to identify optimization opportunities.
Reporting: Monitor and report on technical health metrics to track progress and inform strategy.
Partner with Global team on SEO/GEO reporting on a weekly, monthly, and adhoc basis
Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute technical SEO strategies to improve rankings, user experience, and compliance with search engine guidelines.
Content Migration: Partner with web migration team to support the technical SEO aspects of the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) migration
Staying Current: Keep up to date with search engine algorithm updates and AI-driven search trends to adjust strategies proactively.
Core Skills:
Strong grasp of technical SEO fundamentals, including site architecture, crawlability, indexability, and structured data.
Proficiency in Conductor and other SEO tools (Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush).
Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with development, product, and marketing teams.
Familiarity with AI-powered search and emerging technologies impacting SEO.
Qualifications:
4–6 years of technical SEO experience, ideally in enterprise environments or financial services.
Hands-on experience with technical audits, site speed optimization, and structured data implementation.
Proficiency in Conductor, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Adobe Analytics.
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Exposure to CMS platforms and server-side rendering concepts.
Bonus: Experience with AI-driven search optimization and schema markup.
