Specific Responsibilities

The Assistant Vice President – MIS & Reporting will be responsible for building and enhancing the MIS function, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and impactful reports and dashboards. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to provide actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making.

  • Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that provide insights into business performance and key metrics.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support decision-making at all levels of the organization.
  • MIS Functionality: Build and enhance the MIS function to ensure accurate and timely reporting of critical business information.
  • Report Creation from Scratch: Design and create reports from the ground up based on evolving business requirements, ensuring tailored solutions that directly support decision-making.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather reporting requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Data Visualization: Utilize Power BI and other tools to create visually appealing and informative data visualizations that facilitate understanding and communication of data insights.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of business operations and initiatives.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used in reports and dashboards through rigorous testing and validation processes.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users on how to access and interpret reports and dashboards.

Job Expectations

The AVP – MIS & Reporting is expected to:

  • Keep current with BI tools, data visualization trends, and analytical methodologies.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Exhibit exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, zero-defect work.
  • Possess excellent communication skills to present complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications, Experience, Education

This position requires:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistical Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (Tier I/II institutions preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, QlikView; familiarity with SQL, R, Python, and other data manipulation tools is a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience in MIS, reporting, or data analysis roles, preferably in IT/ITES environments.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
