About the RoleWe’re looking for a Backend Engineer who is a strong builder and comfortable working in a modern AI-assisted development environment (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot).
This is a hands-on role focused on building and scaling backend systems, APIs, and infrastructure. You’ll work closely with a small team to ship quickly, improve system performance, and design scalable architectures.
Your ResponsibilitiesBuild and scale backend services and APIs powering the core product
Design systems that handle real-time processing and high-throughput workloads
Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of the platform
Work on data flows, async processing, and system integrations
Contribute to infrastructure and deployment pipelines
Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) to accelerate development and iteration
Collaborate closely with engineers and founders on architecture and technical decisions
4+ years of backend engineering experience
Strong experience building and shipping production systems
Proficiency in backend development (language-agnostic mindset; Node.js, Python, Go, etc.)
Experience with APIs, distributed systems, and scalable architectures
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar)
Comfort working in an AI-assisted coding workflow (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, etc.)
Solid understanding of system design, performance, and reliability
Ability to work autonomously in a small, fast-moving team
Experience with real-time systems or event-driven architectures
Familiarity with media processing, automation, or bot systems
Experience with message queues, caching, and async workflows
Exposure to low-level performance optimization or systems programming
Startup or early-stage experience
Early-stage team with strong ownership and impact
