• Service Solutions & AI is the domain revolutionizing Deutsche Bank's Private Bank through holistic process automation and AI innovation. Within this critical area, the "Customer Journey Solutions" team is central to shaping its future. We make a significant contribution to the target architecture by driving a common platform, fostering growth initiatives, and optimizing processes. Our key initiatives include the operation and development of the dbCORE low-code platform for process design, creating online product sales and self-service offerings for all channels, building a dedicated product sales and service shop for easy integration, and delivering PB-wide Ident & Sign solutions.
• As a Backend Engineer (AS) in the Digital Sales department, you will contribute to the design and development of backend software components aligned with business requirements. You will work across all phases of the software development lifecycle, participate in agile team ceremonies, and deliver high‑quality features end‑to‑end as an active member of a global, distributed engineering team.
• You will support architecture and design discussions, applying both functional and non‑functional requirement thinking while continuously enhancing your engineering expertise. This role is well‑suited for engineers who want to deepen their backend development skills, engage in modern engineering practices, and contribute meaningfully to customer‑focused digital solutions.

Your key responsibilities

• Software Design & Development: Contribute to the design and development of backend components based on functional business requirements.
• Full SDLC Exposure: Participate in all phases of development—including requirement analysis, coding, testing, deployment, and operations.
• End‑to‑End Feature Delivery: Take responsibility for delivering assigned features with high quality, collaborating closely with QA, product, and engineering teams.
• Architecture Contribution: Provide input to design decisions with a focus on performance, maintainability, and reliability.
• Engineering Practices: Engage in coding best practices, automated testing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Global Teamwork: Collaborate within a distributed, multi‑location agile team to help achieve collective success.
• Quality & Testing: Adopt modern testing methodologies (unit & integration testing) to ensure high‑confidence delivery

Your skills and experience

• Technical Skills
  • Experience: Several years of relevant industry experience in designing and developing backend solutions.
  • Programming: Fluent in building RESTful APIs in either:
    • Java with Spring Boot & Spring Security, or
    • Node.js with Express & TypeScript
  • Containers & Cloud: Experience building containerized services (Docker, Kubernetes) and/or cloud native microservices.
  • Databases: Comfortable with relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Tooling: Working knowledge of Maven, Webpack, Postman, OpenAPI specifications, and testing frameworks for unit/integration testing.
  • Security & Auth: Familiarity with OAuth2 flows and secure API practices.
• Soft Skills
  • Strong passion for delivering customer focused solutions within distributed agile teams.
  • Analytical mindset, ownership, and willingness to learn and grow.
  • Good communication skills for cross team collaboration.
• Education
  • Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Language Skills
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
