As a Java Backend Engineer in the dbflow squad, you will be instrumental in building and evolving backend services that power intelligent automation for Private Bank Germany. You will design and implement robust, scalable modules, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure seamless integration with BPM tools and cloud-native platforms. Collaborating closely with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams, you will help shape the technical foundation of our digital transformation journey.

Your key responsibilities
Backend Development
Design and develop core backend modules for automation services using Java and Camunda.
Implement and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services leveraging Spring Boot and related frameworks.
Ensure adherence to coding standards, design patterns, and best practices.
Collaboration & Delivery
Participate in customer and stakeholder meetings to align on technical solutions.
Break down complex tasks, estimate effort, and deliver iteratively in an agile environment.
Conduct peer reviews, mentor junior engineers, and uphold code quality.
Infrastructure & DevOps
Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment infrastructure using tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, Artifactory, and Maven.
Support containerized deployments on OpenShift or Kubernetes and cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred).
Testing & Quality Assurance
Write unit and integration tests to ensure robust and reliable code.
Resolve bugs efficiently and maintain high-quality deliverables.
Your skills and experience
Core Technical Expertise
8+ years of Java development experience with strong Java Core knowledge.
Hands-on experience with BPM tools (Camunda preferred) and familiarity with BPMN.
Proficiency in Spring Boot and REST/SOAP Web Services.
Strong understanding of design patterns and DevOps practices.
Tools & Platforms
Experience with Oracle databases, SQL, and application servers like Tomcat and WebLogic.
Familiarity with Maven, JIRA, Git, Stash, and Confluence.
Exposure to cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred) and containerized environments (OpenShift, Kubernetes).
Security & Protocols
Good understanding of security protocols (SSL, TLS) and digital certificate handling.
Knowledge of various protocols such as JMS and HTTP.
Nice to Have
Experience with frontend technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Angular, NodeJS).
Advanced SQL and PL/SQL knowledge.
Familiarity with runtime analytics and performance monitoring.
