About the Team:
The Business Analyst will join the Sustainalytics Technology team, supporting the enhancement of data platforms and systems that streamline ESG data collection and research processes. The role bridges the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring solutions align with business needs and deliver meaningful ESG insights.
Role Overview:
The Business Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders and product development teams to analyze requirements, define user stories, and prioritize product features. This role demands a combination of analytical thinking, project management skills, and effective communication. As the platform owner, you will evolve into an application expert, supporting agile practices and fostering continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Project Vision & Strategy:
Contribute to technology project visions aligned with organizational goals.
Work closely with the Product Owner and Scrum teams.
Drive improvements in data research processes and system efficiency.
Business Analysis:
Facilitate workshops to optimize processes and systems.
Gather and define business requirements, drafting clear and concise user stories.
Conduct backlog refinement, sprint planning, and other scrum ceremonies.
Translate business needs into functional specifications.
Project Management:
Own projects from requirement gathering to deployment.
Report project status to senior stakeholders.
Manage timelines, scope, and automation opportunities.
Ensure successful UAT and resolve issues effectively.
Collaboration & Communication:
Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams.
Map user journeys and process flows to identify areas for improvement.
Communicate insights and plans to cross-functional teams and management.
Mentorship:
Manage and mentor junior business analysts.
Serve as a subject matter expert to resolve queries.
Qualifications
Experience:
3+ years in business analysis, process improvement, and project management.
Familiarity with SDLC, Agile principles, and Scrum roles.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Jira, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of SQL and familiarity with web-based API/microservices development.
Exposure to Python (preferred).
Soft Skills:
Excellent written and oral communication.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical abilities.
Ability to work independently under tight timelines with high accuracy.
Education:
Master's degree or relevant certification in business analysis or ESG.
