We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our UPM Adhesive Materials Team in Mumbai, India.  

 

 

What you will do 

  • Ensure product testing and trials in support of sales team 

  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve concerns by leveraging product knowledge and building strong relationships with end users 

  • Engage with key decision-makers to secure specifications across various markets as well as conduct local market value assessments and prepare market platforms 

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of value chain and decision-making process (technical and commercial) for relevant customers and markets. Identify UPM’s customer value proposition in the context of competition and entry barrier 

  • Coordinate local product launches in alignment with the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) 

  • Contribute innovative ideas to strengthen market presence 

  • Provide a market view and end-user mapping to be recorded in the market platform 

  • Collaborate with UPM’s international business development network to share market and application knowledge and support product innovation 

  • Act as an application and market expert for the sales team, helping them achieve their targets 

  • Build connections with relevant professional associations and actively participate in seminars, webinars, exhibitions, and other marketing activities 

 

 

Who you are 

  • You have 5-10 years of experience in sales or business development (preferably pressure-sensitive label and packaging industry) 

  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills and are fluent in English and the local language of the state 

  • You demonstrate the ability to build strong customer and end-user relationships and contribute to business growth 

  • You have knowledge of brand owners in various segments, such as food, pharmaceuticals, personal care, liquor, and beverages
