Job Description: Business Development & Sales Manager – APAC

Location: India (Remote/Hybrid)
Travel: 30 - 50% within India and APAC countries
Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Business Development & Sales Manager – APAC to expand Picarro’s footprint across the Asia-Pacific region. This role will drive both strategic business development and hands-on sales execution, building strong customer pipelines, supporting channel partners, and identifying new market opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical aptitude, a customer-centric mindset, and proven experience selling scientific instruments, analytical equipment, or high-tech solutions in the APAC region.
This role is expected to be based in India, with a focus on regional growth in India, Southeast Asia, and East Asia.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
• Identify, analyze, and prioritize new market opportunities in APAC across, pharmaceutical, environmental monitoring, academic science, commercial research laboratories, and government sectors.
• Experience in working with Pharmaceutical and Biotech customers is desirable
• Develop market-entry strategies for new product lines and applications.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including industry associations, regulatory bodies, government agencies, and research institutions.
• Conduct competitive analysis and provide market intelligence to internal teams.
Sales & Revenue Growth
• Achieve assigned quarterly and annual sales targets by driving end-to-end sales activities—from prospecting to closing.• Manage and grow existing accounts, ensuring strong customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline using CRM tools, providing accurate forecasting and reporting.
• Develop and support channel partners/distributors across APAC, including training, performance reviews, and joint customer visits.
• Collaborate with internal technical, applications, product and marketing teams to deliver product demos, proposals, and RFP responses.
Customer & Technical Engagement
• Understand customer requirements and translate them into practical product recommendations.
• Support product demonstrations, technical discussions, and solution positioning.
• Provide post-sales coordination in collaboration with service and applications engineering teams.
• Must be adept at working with Sales Management Tools (CRM)
• Represent Picarro at conferences, trade shows, and technical seminars across APAC.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5-10 years of work experience in business development and/or sales of analytical instruments, scientific equipment, environmental monitoring technologies, or related high-tech solutions.
• Demonstrated success growing business in APAC markets (India, SEA, East Asia).
• Strong network of contacts within research institutes, environmental agencies, energy companies, industrial sectors, or government bodies is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English required
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, globally distributed team environment.
• Willingness to travel regionally (30–50%).
