Overview
The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for extensive outreach to universities, central libraries, media outlets, PR platforms, and influential blog sites. You will drive user awareness programs and deliver platform walkthroughs to position our brand as a trusted resource, ensuring the platform is featured and linked on high-authority library, educational, and media sites. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in business outreach, educational engagement, and a sophisticated understanding of the AI writing tool industry—including key competitors
Responsibilities
- Strategic Outreach & Relationship Management: Identify and connect with decision-makers at universities, central/academic libraries, PR contacts, journalists, and blog network managers
- Develop and execute strategic outreach campaigns designed to secure brand mentions, features, and backlinks across targeted educational, library, and media sites
- User Awareness Programs & Platform Walkthroughs: Design and deliver engaging user awareness workshops and platform demonstrations tailored to library staff, students, faculty, and content creators
- Educate target audiences on the benefits, features, and use cases of our tools, and facilitate interactive onboarding.
- Benchmark competitors, assess their product features, positioning, and outreach strategies, and identify strategic opportunities to differentiate our brand
- Track outreach performance, feature placements, backlink acquisition, user engagement from awareness programs, and competitive positioning
- Monitor conversion rates and refine outreach strategies based on performance analytics and participant feedback.
Qualifications
- 4+ years in business development and educational engagement, ideally with a focus on technology or SaaS platforms in educational/media sectors
- Proficient in outreach, PR, CRM, and analytics tools
- Good understanding of off-page SEO and high-authority backlink strategies
- Thorough grasp of AI writing tools landscape, leading platforms and technologies
- Capable of designing and delivering education/training sessions for diverse audiences
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation abilities
- Results-oriented, adaptable, proactive, and highly skilled in driving brand visibility through multi-channel outreach
- Fully comfortable with remote work setup
