Job Description:

Job purpose
Works with business partners to provide business solutions aligned with business strategies, understands the needs of the business users, analyzes the business requirements to determine the solution options, defines the functional requirements that will be signed off by both business and technical stakeholders, and ensures that the requirements are properly supported by the design, code, testing and final product.

Major accountabilities

  • Determines, analyzes, and documents simple to medium-size business requirements from the business community and coordinates with the developers to create the system specifications.
  • Communicates with the stakeholder and development team for clarification of business requirements, testing, and post production support
  • Formulates execution and release strategy
  • Create backlog items based on high level requirement
  • Prepares and documents manual and system procedures in support of the business needs.
  • Provides post-implementation and production support for deployed systems including analysis of simple to medium production problems raised by business users.
  • Identifies areas for improvement on both business process and implementation details
  • Conducts business or functional training for the business community and technical team as needed

Education and experience

  • College/University Degree preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business
  • At least 3 years Business Analysis Experience
  • Insurance background or experience working in an insurance company is a plus
  • Programming experience is a plus but NOT required
  • Must have strong analytical and conceptual skills, good interviewing skills (for data gathering/business requirements preparation);
  • Possesses good oral and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills, must be very client oriented
