The Pricing & Valuation Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate, independent valuation of the hedge fund's portfolio across listed and OTC financial instruments. This role supports risk management, NAV calculation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance by validating market prices and applying appropriate valuation methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Pricing & Valuation

• Perform daily independent price verification (IPV) for:
  • Listed securities (equities, ETFs, futures, options)
  • OTC derivatives (swaps, forwards, structured products, credit derivatives)
• Validate prices from multiple sources (brokers, vendors, exchanges)
• Investigate and resolve pricing discrepancies and stale prices

2. OTC Product Valuation

• Develop and apply valuation models for OTC instruments, including:
  • Interest rate swaps, FX forwards, CDS, options, structured notes
• Calibrate models using market data (curves, vol surfaces, spreads)
• Work with quants to enhance pricing methodologies
• Assess model assumptions and valuation adjustments (e.g., CVA, DVA)

3. Listed Product Pricing

• Ensure accurate pricing of exchange-traded instruments using:
  • Closing prices, settlement prices, official exchange feeds
• Handle corporate actions (dividends, splits, mergers)
• Monitor liquidity and market activity for fair value considerations

4. Market Data Management

• Source and validate market data inputs:
  • Yield curves, volatility surfaces, credit spreads
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems
• Liaise with vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv)

5. NAV & P&L Support

• Support daily/monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations
• Explain P&L movements related to pricing changes
• Work closely with Fund Accounting and Risk teams

6. Controls & Governance

• Maintain valuation policies in line with regulatory standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP)
• Document valuation methodologies and model assumptions
• Participate in valuation committees and audits
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations

7. Stakeholder Interaction

• Collaborate with:
  • Front Office (traders, portfolio managers)
  • Risk Management
  • Fund Accounting
  • External auditors and administrators
• Provide pricing insights and challenge front office marks where necessary
