This role will provide outsourced accounting and advisory to our clients within the commercial construction industry.
Responsibilities:
• Manage a remote accounting team including job time budgets and job profitability.• Provides general advisory services to clients via scheduled remote meetings.• Direct point of contact for construction client engagements.• Partners with client accounting staff and to maintain and foster relationships within construction industry.• Research and share knowledge of best practices in areas of business concern or interest to each client.• Responsible for managing and finalizing the accounting period close.• Review financial statements, contracts in progress schedule, management reports and other key performance indicators for accuracy.• Manage financial reporting accuracy for clients and Board of Directors.• Advise client on process improvement in their accounting department and internal controls.• Provide technical accounting assistance to clients and internal team.• Mentor and train direct reports to grow in their roles and responsibilities.• Embrace new technology, including various accounting software and demonstrate the ability to adapt and learn quickly.
**This role will require 5-10% travel annually
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 10 years of advanced, hands on, full cycle accounting experience that includes financial statement preparation and review.• Previous public accounting experience is preferred.• US GAAP and financial statement analytic experience preferred.• Experience with a Contracts in Progress (Work in Progress) schedule is preferred.• Minimum of 4 years supervisory experience.
• Proven ability to build and manage relationships.• Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, CCIFP) preferred but not required.
