Capgemini is looking for a talented and motivated Cobol Developer to join our dynamic team.
The Agile Deve Team II – Cobol Developer will be responsible for developing & maintaining the POINT Policy Administration System. The role requires a strong understanding of Agile methodologies & principles, along with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. The developer will design, code, test, and support high quality deliverables and adherence to best practices in cobol development. Key responsibilities include:
- 5+ years experience in COBOL
- 3+ years of working experience on IBM iSeries(AS400) environment, commands & basic understanding of databases & library hierarchy
- Excellent understanding of CL
- Knowledge with AS400 tools such as DBU, SEQUEL, CA2E implementer(Change Management software), ROBOT job scheduler, RDI developers software
- Experience with MQ & FTP concepts from AS400
- Experience working with SAFe/Agile methodology as well as utilizing Rally tool
- Provide technical support during testing. Assist in deployment & provide post deployment support
- Perform data analysis and provide ad-hoc reports as requested
- Ability to document technical specifications from functional requirements
- Experience working across teams & other development disciplines to design, develop & perform integrated unit testing
- Responsible for troubleshooting and debugging production issues
- Analyze and refine user requirements into technical specifications.
- Debug, test, and troubleshoot existing and new application code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of test plans and test cases.
- Document development processes, code changes, and application architecture.

Required Education
- Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Cobol, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle practices and methodologies.
- Understanding of database management and data manipulation techniques.
Other Critical Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge on Agile practices and principles
- Basic knowledge of auto insurance
