PandaDoc is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to join our Customer Value Track on the Workflows team. Customer Value Track designs and delivers end-to-end solutions in our product to bring new happy customers to PandaDoc. Join the Workflows team owning the services that power data processing for templates and automations, including the new Document Creation Flow. You will work closely with Product and peer CVT teams to ship reliable, scalable backend services that customers feel every day.
In this role, you will:- Design and build services for Workflows/Pipelines that power data processing for templates and automations (e.g., rules engine, lookup tables).
- Contribute to the Document Creation Flow (end-to-end document setup) in close collaboration with Product and other CVT teams.
- Partner directly with stakeholders to clarify requirements and turn them into production-grade solutions.
- Own features end-to-end—from problem definition through delivery, rollout, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Join an on-call rotation after onboarding and strengthen our reliability practices.
- Work in a Scrumban process with close Product collaboration.
- Architecture: Service-oriented services alongside legacy/monolithic components based on Django.
- Python: Primarily AsyncIO frameworks and libraries; Django services with Celery workloads.
- Infrastructure: AWS and Kubernetes for provisioning and deployments.
- Messaging & events: NATS (migrating to gRPC), Kafka/Debezium, RabbitMQ; Temporal.io on the horizon.
- Have 5+ years of professional experience with Python and deliver scalable, available, maintainable, and performant solutions.
- Apply software design patterns thoughtfully to meet expectations for extensibility, adaptability, and quality.
- Work confidently with Django, microservices, and relational databases (SQL, migrations, optimization), and use message queues (RabbitMQ, NATS, Kafka).
- Write unit and end-to-end tests as part of your workflow.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to product managers, designers, support, and engineers. Thrive in a product-driven environment where ownership evolves with priorities.
- Advocate for the customer and shape great product experiences.
- Use English effectively, written and spoken.
