About this role
Business Overview
The Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group provides independent oversight of BlackRock’s fiduciary and enterprise risks. RQA’s mission is to advance the firm’s risk management practices, deliver independent challenge, and strengthen business and investment outcomes through deep risk expertise and data‑driven insights.
We are committed to investing in our people and fostering a culture of inclusion, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. We actively engage with team members to support career development and help connect individual passions and strengths to our purpose.
Core ERM Enterprise Risk, Governance & Solutions Team (ERGOS Team)
Within RQA, the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function oversees risks that directly impact the firm—including operational, technology, model, vendor, and market risks—while coordinating stress testing and capital adequacy programs. ERM partners across the organization to ensure risk frameworks, data, processes, and reporting capabilities remain robust, resilient, and aligned with global regulatory and internal governance expectations.
The ERGOS team sits at the center of Core ERM’s reporting and operational ecosystem. The team designs, optimizes, and maintains technology‑enabled processes that support risk governance and oversight across the enterprise. The team operates at the intersection of risk, data, and technology, ensuring that reporting pipelines, workflows, controls, and supporting tools are scalable, standardized, and operationally sound.
Our mandate includes process redesign, workflow standardization, automation, data quality enhancements, and operational support for key ERM programs.
The Role
We are seeking a Business Solutions Associate to help shape Core ERM’s evolving operating and technology landscape. In this role, you will connect business needs with technology capabilities, helping create processes and solutions that are simpler, scalable, and more transparent. You will play a meaningful part in strengthening how data and workflows run across ERM, supporting our shift toward a modern, technology‑powered ecosystem. This includes contributing to workflow modernization, improving reporting reliability, and bringing a forward‑looking mindset to low‑code development and AI‑enabled solutioning.
Key Responsibilities
Partner closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges, bring structure to ambiguous problems, and design clear end‑to‑end workflows, user journeys, and edge‑case scenarios.
Translate business needs into actionable solution designs including workflow diagrams, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications that guide technical development.
Drive the full delivery lifecycle from initial scoping and requirement discovery to design, execution support, testing, rollout, and adoption, ensuring process coherence and solution quality throughout.
Collaborate with Python and Power Platform developers to build scalable automation and reporting solutions that improve efficiency and operational control.
Take up low‑code/no‑code development independently and contribute to the team’s AI‑enabled solution strategy by using AI tools for design, analysis, and workflow optimization.
Build strong working relationships across RQA, business partners, and technology teams to enable smoother coordination, faster decision‑making, and cross‑team alignment.
Manage timelines, priorities, and dependencies across workstreams; negotiate realistic delivery commitments with stakeholders and ensure transparent communication of risks and progress.
Monitor SLAs, operational metrics, and workflow health; coordinate issue tracking, remediation actions, and produce materials for committee and leadership reporting.
Maintain governance artifacts such as procedures, RACIs, workflow inventories, and playbooks—ensuring alignment with policy and audit control expectations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
3-5 years of experience in solution design, business analysis, or technology‑enabled process improvement within financial services or similar environments.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to break down complex business needs into structured, actionable solution requirements.
Clear and structured communicator with the ability to articulate reasoning, ask probing questions, and drive high‑quality discussions with business stakeholders.
Experience designing process flows, journey maps, or workflow diagrams using tools such as Visio, Miro, or equivalent diagramming platforms.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools and comfort working with automation or workflow‑based platforms; hands‑on low‑code/no‑code exposure is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritize effectively, and maintain structured ownership in a fast‑paced, multi‑stakeholder environment.
Experience preparing process documentation, conducting functional validations, defining edge cases, and performing quality checks on data, reports, or automated workflows.
Proactive, adaptable mindset with a willingness to learn and adopt emerging technologies, especially AI‑enabled tools that enhance analysis, workflow design, and solutioning.
Strong collaboration and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams and contribute to a cohesive delivery environment.

Prior experience with enterprise risk management or financial services.
Understanding of Six Sigma and Agile practices
Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Miro, or similar project and requirements‑tracking tools.
Exposure to Python, SQL, or foundational programming concepts.
