Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead, define and maintain product requirements for software solutions based on both clinical (e.g. electronic medical record) and claims data
• Create and maintain business/functional logic specifications for business intelligence solutions, including appropriate use of output tables and complex analytic methodologies used in health care decision-support solutions
• Understand client reporting needs and then translate into business requirements
• Actively collaborate with stakeholders (Product managers, methodologists, research analysts, software development, clinicians, and quality engineers) to ensure correct implementation of business logic
• Consistently produce reliable, thorough, and accurate documentation. Includes translating highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences.
• Create user acceptance test plans, content validation test plans and support testing activities. Support testing activities involving both claims and clinical data along with UI dashboards.
• Work closely with clinical informatics team to maintain data mapping tables
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding questions about analytical concepts
• Conduct complex analyses, solve complex problems and proactively provide solutions
• Review client requests for new reports and assess for viability based upon the capabilities of the analytic output. Coordinate requests with Product team and methods governance.
• Establish documentation standards and formats for creating custom reporting artifacts
• Solid visualization skills (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
• Review and interpret UI designs and Figma to ensure accurate translation into functional and UI specifications
• Perform functional analysis and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to finalize data tables, column definitions, and business logic prior to development
• Prepare detailed UI specification documents that include underlying SQL logic, data mappings, and calculation rules
• Position requires analytic skills, descriptive level statistics
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate Degree in business management, information systems or healthcare-related field or 5+ years work experience in IT or Healthcare industry
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience as business analyst in support of software development
• 5+ years of experience with Power BI and/or other data visualization tools
• 5+ years creating and designing reports for payers and healthcare providers
• Experience writing detailed functional specifications for software
• Experience writing detailed UI specifications for Dashboards
• Experience with statistical concepts
• Experience using claims and clinical data in applications such as risk identification and stratification, cost and utilization reporting, provider measurement, trending, benchmarking, population health and care coordination, quality measurement or clinical outcomes
• Solid working knowledge of administrative claims data and medical coding systems (i.e., CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9/10, NDC, etc.)
• Knowledge of HL7/FHIR Standards
• Working knowledge of SQL code including SQL for accessing Athena and Databricks
• Knowledge of administrative claims and clinical data accessed via large data warehouse environment (Asset)
• Proficiency with MS Office tools, including Visio and Access
• Proven solid communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience or knowledge in Symmetry suite: Episode Treatment Groups (ETG), Procedure Episode Groups (PEG), Episode Risk Groups (ERG), Pharmacy Risk Groups (PRG)
• Experience or knowledge in Impact Pro
• Experience or knowledge in Impact Intelligence
• Understanding of health care industry concepts (cost of care, health risk, quality of care, etc.)
• Familiarity with Optum analytic products a plus
• Intermediate proficiency with relational databases, database structures and SQL
• Knowledge of risk modeling techniques
• Proven solid conceptual design skills
• Proven solid understanding of UI and data visualization concepts
• Proven solid documentation and specification writing skills
