Job Overview:
Informatics at Fortrea is a high profile, high impact team that focuses on creating innovative data-driven solutions to improve the speed, cost, and quality of drug development.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Contribute to architectural vision for Fortrea’s data architecture, data integration and master data management strategies.
Design and implement core ETL workflows for Fortrea’s information integration and reporting infrastructure.
Participate in the design and development of high-performing, scalable and maintainable data repositories for analytic purposes.
Participate in the full development cycle from product inception, research and prototyping to release in production.
Measurably impact company performance by delivering high quality, scalable data products.
Supervise external resources.
All other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications (Minimum Required):
BSc/MSc in computer science, information systems, life sciences, or similar.
Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements

Experience (Minimum Required):
8+ years of designing ETL processes, designing data transfer and synchronization schemes, and implementing complex ETL workflows.
Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks is highly preferred
Solid understanding of operational and dimensional database models, including logical and physical design using SQL Server, Oracle, or similar.
Experience delivering data to staging environments, data warehouses and data marts.
Experience with master data management approaches, tools, and design patterns.
Proficiency in database programming using T-SQL, PL/SQL, or similar.
Proficiency in query performance tuning.
Proven ability to take ownership and lead a project with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong written and verbal presentation.
Preferred:
Experience in pharmaceutical R and D, clinical development and/or healthcare IT, and working knowledge of standard medical terminologies, coding systems and data standards.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases, including Solr, MongoDB, CouchDB, or similar.
Familiarity with Hadoop or other distributed data stores and NoSQL databases.
Familiarity with semantic web, OWL, RDF.
Programming skills in C#.
