A member of the GBS MDM team with a solid grasp of master data and its importance to Smith & Nephew. You will be responsible for the maintenance of business-critical data and have the ability to solve issues and offer solutions, coordinate GBS help desk activities with all system users, and work with the DQO team in transitioning data-related projects into BAU standard methodologies. You will implement standard methodologies and cultivate positive relationships with other areas of the business. You will demonstrate sound knowledge across both technical and functional areas of operational ERP systems. Provide advice, guidance, and training to both colleagues and internal customers.
What will you be doing?
- Manage and prioritize the GBS MDM mailbox requests, working within agreed SLAs.
- Work with designated ERP system internal customers on understanding daily production/logistics problems, updating master data changes and co-ordinate and implement master data uploads
- Co-ordinate and resolve processing/reporting and field conflict issues within the MDM team
- Implement item master data transactions covering creating, amending, and extending materials, source lists, purchase info records, vendors, customers, and manufacturing elements.
- Develop training materials and documentation and implement training using the appropriate tools, where necessary
- Participate in data harmonization activities, and MDM process-improvement workshops
- Maintain the MDM Standard Operating Procedures and Data Dictionary
- Identify gaps in policies and call out issues to DQO (Data Quality Organization) as necessary for resolution
- Assist in defining and documenting global MDM processes
- Implement material master data quality standard methodologies
- Implement standards/guidance for Material master data auditing/validating and cleansing
- Implement metrics, measurements, data quality score carding
- Provide appropriate training and education to the countries in the region for Data.
- To ensure suitable audit trails/change control is in place to ensure data integrity and control.
- Solid understanding of Master Data management tools : Syndigo, IDQ, Embarcadero, and Winshuttle.
Key interactions
Global Data management function spanning divisions and regions, as well as data domains including Raw Materials, Intermediates and Finished Goods, Vendors, Customers, Finance and Organizational Structure. The Data scope is continuing to expand and evolve.
Working across multiple source systems including SAP ECC5, ECC6, ECC4.7, BPCS, Movex, Axapta etc.
What will you need to be successful?
Education:
Required:
Bachelor´s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent experience in a data quality role
MS Office (Excel - Advanced level)
English Level B2+ (minimum required).
Experience:
Should have 2 years’ experience in data quality and governance.
SAP/Axapta experience in Material Master, Vendor and Customer, Product, Finance Master Data (preferred)
A solid grasp of data management principles and standard methodology.
Have a solid understanding of core data/analysis tools particularly Informatica, Winshuttle, MS Excel, Business Objects and SAP SQVI
Good interpersonal skills – ability to build positive relationships with diverse teams and senior leaders.
Recognized as a domain expert for data management and data quality for the region.
