The Database Administrator plans and maintains computerized databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Responsibilities include software installation, backup procedures, performance monitoring, and emergency support. The role also involves working with teams to implement enhancements and manage security controls.
Summary:
Plans computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection. Ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools, such as base dictionaries. Establishes and maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management. Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Hands-on at EBS R12.2 administration, maintenance, cloning & patching.
- Installation, configuration and upgrading/patching of Oracle server software and related products.
- Starting and Stopping the application & Bouncing apache,oacore,oafm if needed
- Monitoring the application related products like oacore,oafm apache etc.
- Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures.
- Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
- Work as part of a team and provide 24×7 support when required
- Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams.
- Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support.
- Patch Management and Version Control.
- Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.
- Perform application tuning and performance monitoring.
- Cloning DEV and TEST from PROD.
- Monitoring database using OEM and custom scripts.
- Additional skills like OBIEE, WebLogic, SQL server, SOA, Agile, Hyperion, etc. are an added advantage.
- Provide emergency after hours support for critical applications as needed. Perform upgrades/ DRP testing/ maintenance after hours as needed.
- Create, configure, backup and restore a WebLogic Server domain, cluster, and authentication provider
- Ensures installations meet standards and technical specifications
- Plan, install, build, manage, support, configure, secure and test Weblogic infrastructure components and connectivity
- Support multiple WebLogic 11g Servers and J2EE applications in a High Availability environment
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support services for web infrastructure
- Assist in the planning and execution of disaster recovery failover testing
- Perform 24x7 on call duties on a rotation basis with the other Weblogic administrator
- Perform scheduled maintenance, patching, and security compliance
- Perform and automate manual application deployments
- Understand and follow existing change management processes
