Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards, gather requirements, implement security measures, optimize data models, and provide technical support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy interactive and visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into effective data visualizations.
- Implement row-level security (RLS) and other access control mechanisms to ensure data privacy and governance.
- Optimize data refresh schedules, DAX formulas, and report performance to ensure efficiency and responsiveness.
- Create and manage data models, calculated measures, and KPIs using DAX and Power Query (M).
- Maintain and monitor Power BI Service workspaces, including dataset refreshes and scheduled reports.
- Ensure data consistency and accuracy across reports through validation and testing.
- Document dashboard functionalities, data sources, and security configurations.
- Provide technical support, training, and guidance to business users and analysts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 6+ years of professional experience in Power BI development and data visualization.
- Expertise in designing data models and writing complex DAX measures and expressions.
- Proven experience in implementing security models (e.g., Row-Level Security, access management).
- Strong understanding of data refresh optimization, performance tuning, and Power BI Service configuration.
- Proficiency in Power Query (M language) and experience integrating multiple data sources.
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud-based data sources (e.g., Azure SQL, Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Familiarity with Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate).
- Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and compliance practices.
