Role Description
- As an Associate DevOps Engineer, you will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role emphasizes automation, reliability, and operational excellence, requiring close collaboration with development, data, and security teams to deliver scalable, secure, cloud-native solutions.
- We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced engineer to take ownership of our infrastructure strategy as we migrate and build critical financial crime risk platforms on GCP. In this role, you will define architecture, lead implementation, and ensure the robust maintenance of our infrastructure, workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
Infrastructure & Automation
- Cloud Management: Deploy and manage scalable GCP infrastructure using services like Compute Engine, GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, and VPC.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate the provisioning and lifecycle of environments using Terraform or Deployment Manager to ensure consistency and prevent configuration drift.
- Containerization: Support application modernizing through Docker containerization and orchestration via Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and resource efficiency.
CI/CD & Release Engineering
- Pipeline Development: Implement and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Release Management: Facilitate seamless environment promotions across Development, Testing, and Production tiers, ensuring code quality and deployment reliability.
Reliability & Security
- Observability: Monitor system health, performance, and uptime using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Error Reporting to proactively identify bottlenecks.
- Incident Response: Assist in troubleshooting, conducting root cause analysis (RCA), and drafting post-incident documentation to drive continuous improvement.
- Security & Compliance: Enforce cloud security best practices, including managing IAM roles, service accounts, secrets management (Secret Manager), and defining granular network policies.

Your key responsibilities
- Independently architect and deploy cloud-native infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), managing Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and Cloud Storage.
- Handle the development of automated deployment pipelines using Terraform, Cloud Build, and GitHub Actions to enforce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards and enable seamless continuous delivery.
- Provision and manage scalable environments for AI/ML workloads by configuring Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, and Cloud Functions to support high-performance model training and hosting.
- Collaborate with MLOps and Data Science teams to automate the machine learning lifecycle, integrating model versioning and deployment automation into the existing CI/CD framework.
- Implement and maintain enterprise-grade security controls, including granular IAM roles, Cloud KMS encryption, VPC Controls, and comprehensive audit logging to protect sensitive environments.
- Maximize system reliability and uptime by leveraging Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Error Reporting to build proactive alerting, dashboards, and automated incident response workflows.
- Manage container orchestration and microservices infrastructure using Docker and GKE, focusing on high availability, auto-scaling, and resource optimization.
- Maintain operational documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs), to ensure consistent environment promotion and disaster recovery readiness.
Your skills and experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Experience in a DevOps or SRE role, with a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform within a highly regulated industry.
- Technical Depth: Strong experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Deep expertise in containerization technologies (Docker) and container orchestration tools (Kubernetes/GKE).
- Pipeline Expertise: Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing integration, and GitHub/GitHub Actions.
- Security & Compliance: Strong understanding and practical application of security and compliance best practices, including specific GCP security features (IAM, VPC Service Controls, encryption).
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional initiatives and drive consensus.
