Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Digital Solutions Engineer
Department: Centre of Excellence (Digital)
Responsible to: Digital Team Leader, CoE
Location: Pune, India
- Builds prototypes, systems suitable for testing and sets up and runs lab simulations.
- Involve in Deploying IOT projects Deployment for on Prem and Cloud Platforms
- Develop necessary Engineering documents such as Functional Specification, Develop Architecture Diagram and produce testing procedures.
- Industrial IoT Hardware setup connectivity to Kepware/Modbus/other OPC UA Protocols
- Exposure to PLC configurations.
- Field deployment support for Edge Applications.
- Stays current with the cutting edge in IoT related technologies.
- Shares expertise throughout the organization and may provide user training for products.
- Evaluates engineering approaches and risks to produce development plans that ensure high quality, low cost products and systems.
- Real-time Communication: Develop real-time communication mechanisms (e.g., MQTT, WebSockets) for efficient data exchange between IoT devices and the platform.
- Device Management: Build modules for device registration, onboarding, and management, enabling efficient communication and control of IoT devices.
- Data Ingestion and Storage: Implement data ingestion pipelines to collect and store data from IoT devices, sensors, and gateways.
- Security and Authentication: Implement robust security measures, including authentication and authorization mechanisms, to protect data and ensure device security.
- IoT Protocols: Work with various IoT protocols (e.g., MQTTS, RabbitMQ, AMQP) to enable seamless communication between devices and the platform.
- APIs and Integration: Design and develop APIs to enable integration with third-party systems and services, fostering interoperability.
- Edge Computing: Implement edge computing capabilities to process data closer to the source for reduced latency and enhanced efficiency.
Job related Competencies
- Experience with one or more IoT related technologies such as, MQTT, RabbitMQ or similar.
- Experience in industrial acquisition protocols (Modbus, OPC-UA, etc.)
- Experience with security frameworks for IoT.
- Experience automating tasks on Linux – Shell scripting.
- Experience in deploying web applications to any of the major cloud providers AWS, Azure or GCP.
