- Lead and mentor multiple DevOps and automation engineering teams (20-40 professionals)
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and operational excellence
- Drive talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies for high-performing DevOps teams
- Establish clear career progression paths and technical competency frameworks
- Champion engineering best practices and modern DevOps methodologies
- Execute CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), pipeline, container, and orchestration strategies across the organization
- Drive standardization of DevOps tools, processes, and practices across multiple product teams
- Lead the technical implementation of cloud migration strategies for legacy data center workloads
- Architect and implement robust automation solutions for big data processing systems (SQL and Spark-based)
- Ensure scalable, reliable, and secure deployment pipelines for mission-critical data processing workloads
- Oversee multi-cloud infrastructure management, monitoring, and cost optimization (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Partner with platform engineering, SRE, data engineering, and security teams to align DevOps capabilities with business objectives
- Establish metrics, KPIs, and continuous improvement processes to optimize delivery performance and operational excellence
- Lead incident response coordination, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity processes
- Drive knowledge transfer, best practice sharing, and governance frameworks across engineering teams
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of technology experience with 7+ years in DevOps or platform engineering roles
- 5+ years of experience leading and scaling DevOps teams (15+ professionals)
- Experience managing global, distributed teams including offshore resources and mixed full-time and contractor workforces
- Proven track record of successful cloud migrations and infrastructure modernization at enterprise scale
- Experience with big data processing systems and large-scale distributed computing environments
- Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including cluster management, networking, and security
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
- Strong background with CI/CD platforms, particularly Jenkins, and artifact management (Nexus)
- Extensive experience with configuration management and automation tools, especially Ansible
- Solid understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies, and code management practices (GitHub)
- Multi-cloud platform expertise with AWS and GCP (Azure experience a plus)
- Experience with Helm charts, container registries, and container security practices
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience managing complex, cross-functional technical initiatives
- Proven ability to drive organizational change and adopt new technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in ambiguous environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Understanding of big data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Hadoop ecosystem) and data pipeline orchestration
- Experience with SQL-based processing systems, data lake, and modern analytics architectures
- Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)
- Background with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog)
- Knowledge of security scanning tools and DevSecOps practices
- Experience with GitOps methodologies and tools (ArgoCD, Flux)
- Previous experience in data-intensive or analytics-focused organizations
