About the role:We are seeking a Electronics Design Specialist to join our education team. This unique role combines technical expertise in PCB design with a passion for teaching and mentoring others. The ideal candidate will be responsible for introducing the University Curriculum, Embedded Systems: From Product Design to PCB Layout, a global university initiative developed by Renesas and Altium to prepare industry-ready
students in embedded systems, hardware engineering, and PCB design. This role is responsible for developing training materials and delivering technical training sessions for the University community from beginners to advanced students. As part of the Altium Education team, you will be responsible for introductory cross training on embedded systems and the Renesas QuickConnect Studio.
- Create and maintain high-quality technical training content including presentations, tutorials, labs, and hands-on exercises.
- Deliver training sessions on the University Embedded Systems curriculum, and embedded software development, either virtually or in-person, to Professors and students.
- Act as a technical advisor and mentor to engineering faculty and students needing guidance on Altium design tools, Altium 365 platform, and basic embedded systems skills.
- Host workshops and online forum designed to support students enrolled in the educational courses with their projects, design reviews, and use of tools and platforms
- Collaborate with product and application engineering teams to stay aligned with the latest Altium tools and platforms.
- Provide technical feedback to development teams based on customer and trainee interactions.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in PCB design and development.
- Prior experience working with electronic design software, with a preference for Altium experience.
- Strong understanding of PCB design principles and methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with a proven ability to present technical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Passion for education and mentoring, with the ability to adjust teaching style based on university level experience and background.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
