As an Engineer II, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to building secure, scalable, and automated environments across both Azure and AWS platforms. You’ll participate in day-to-day delivery of infrastructure and deployments, while continuing to grow your skills in cloud, automation, and platform operations.
Key Responsibilities
Platform & Cloud Engineering
- Support provisioning and maintenance of infrastructure on Azure and AWS, including compute, networking, storage, and IAM.
- Work with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Assist with container-based infrastructure using Kubernetes (AKS/EKS) and Helm.
CI/CD & Automation
- Contribute to the creation and management of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Automate repeatable tasks and basic operations using scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Integrate deployment and testing steps with code repositories and pipeline workflows.
Monitoring & Operations
- Set up and monitor logs, metrics, and alerts using tools like Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Support troubleshooting efforts and participate in incident response under senior guidance.
- Maintain documentation for systems and processes to support operational excellence.
Collaboration & Learning
- Work closely with senior platform engineers to understand infrastructure design patterns and platform automation.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Exhibit a strong growth mindset and contribute to team knowledge-sharing practices.
Required Competencies
Technology Stack Expertise
- Azure: Azure DevOps, AKS, Storage, Monitor, Key Vault
- AWS: EC2, S3, EKS, IAM, CloudWatch
- CI/CD Tools: Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline
- IaC: Terraform, CloudFormation
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS/AKS)
Technical Execution
- Experience writing scripts in Bash, PowerShell, or Python
- Understanding of secure deployments and cloud best practices
- Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools
Collaboration & Communication
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Good communication and documentation practices
- Willingness to receive feedback and contribute proactively
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles
- Cloud experience with at least one major provider (Azure or AWS)
- Strong interest in automation, cloud-native technologies, and improving engineering processes
- Ability to work independently on defined tasks and eagerness to learn and grow
