Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead our dynamic engineering team for the Porch Moving Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for innovation. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for guiding the team to deliver high-quality products, ensuring alignment with company goals, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

What You Will Do As A Engineering Manager

Team Leadership:
    ○ Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
    ○ Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and career development sessions with team members.
    ○ Promote a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and growth.

Project Management:
    ○ Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
    ○ Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and scope.
    ○ Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

Technical Guidance:
    ○ Provide technical leadership and direction to the engineering team.
    ○ Participate in architectural discussions and guide the team in making informed technical decisions.
    ○ Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and incorporate them into the team’s processes.

Process Improvement:
    ○ Develop and refine engineering processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and collaboration.
    ○ Implement and monitor KPIs to assess the team’s performance and drive continuous improvement.
    ○ Advocate for and implement Agile methodologies where appropriate.

Resource Management:
    ○ Manage resource allocation to ensure optimal team productivity and project success.
    ○ Identify staffing needs and participate in the recruitment and hiring process.
    ○ Oversee the onboarding and training of new team members.

Stakeholder Communication:
    ○ Act as a primary point of contact between the engineering team and other departments.
    ○ Provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and achievements to senior management and other stakeholders.
    ○ Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.

What You Will Bring As A Engineering Manager

● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
● 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.

● Technical experience:
    ○ Experience with C#, ASP.NET (.NET Framework and .NET Core/Standard, MVC)
    ○ Experience with JavaScript and its frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, etc.)
    ○ Experience with TypeScript preferred
    ○ Proficiency with SQL
    ○ Production Kubernetes experience
    ○ Development Tools: Experience with development tools such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, etc.
    ○ Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus
● Proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.
● Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and project management tools.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
● Ability to balance technical expertise with business acumen.
● Proven experience working with US based business teams 
● Excellent written and communication skills in English language 
● Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations - Eastern Standard Time (EST) overlap
● Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload

What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member 

Pay Range*: INR 3,375,000 - 4,725,000 INR annually 

*Please know your actual pay at Porch will reflect a number of factors among which are your work experience and skillsets, job-related knowledge, alignment with market and our Porch employees, as well as your geographic location.
