  1. Corporate Secretary: Automating the company incorporation, secretarial, filing, Nominee Director, mailroom and immigration processes via custom online robots and SleekSign.  We are the market leaders in Singapore with ~5% market share of all new business incorporations
  2. Accounting & Bookkeeping: Redefining what it means to do Accounting, Bookkeeping, Tax and Payroll thanks to our proprietary SleekBooks ledger, AI tools and exceptional customer service
  3. FinTech payments: Overcoming a key challenge for Entrepreneurs by offering digital banking services to new businesses

Sleek launched in 2017 and now has around 15,000 customers across our offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and the UK.  We have around 500 staff with an intact startup mindset.

Requirements

We are looking for someone that is excited about the below Mission and Outcomes over the next 6-12 months.

Mission:

At Sleek, we are on a mission to streamline operations and elevate customer experience through intelligent automation and modern engineering. We are seeking an Engineering Manager who will be responsible for leading, growing, and empowering high-performing product engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable software that directly advances Sleek’s business objectives. This role translates product vision and company strategy into clear technical direction, strong execution plans, and predictable delivery outcomes. You will be accountable for engineering quality, operational excellence, team health, and long-term sustainability, while fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Acting as a key bridge between product, design, business, and technology, you will ensure alignment across disciplines and help turn complex problems into simple, impactful solutions for our customers.

Key outcomes in the next 6-12 month:
1. Team & Delivery

  • Build, lead, and retain a high-performing team with strong ownership and accountability.
  • Establish predictable delivery through effective planning, estimation, and execution.
  • Ensure teams consistently deliver high-quality features aligned with product priorities.
  • Improve engineering velocity while maintaining or raising quality standards.

2. Technical Leadership

  • Partner with Staff/Principal Engineers to guide system design and architectural decisions.
  • Ensure engineering best practices across code quality, testing, reviews, and documentation.
  • Drive pragmatic technical decision-making that balances speed, quality, and maintainability.
  • Actively manage and reduce technical debt.

3. Execution & Process

  • Own sprint, quarterly, and roadmap execution for your team(s).
  • Improve and standardise agile rituals (planning, retrospectives, stand-ups).
  • Define and track delivery metrics (cycle time, throughput, reliability).
  • Proactively surface risks, trade-offs, and dependencies.

4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with Product Managers to shape roadmaps and delivery plans.
  • Communicate clearly with leadership on progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Align engineering execution with company-level goals and priorities.

5. People Development

  • Coach engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and career development plans.
  • Set clear expectations around performance, behaviours, and growth.
  • Hire and onboard engineers who raise the bar technically and culturally.
  • Create a psychologically safe, inclusive, and high-trust team environment.

To do this you will have:

  • 7+ years of experience as a software engineer (ideally full stack react/javascript/typescript).
  • 2+ years experience managing and leading engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of modern full-stack systems in production.
  • Experience delivering customer-facing products at scale.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with Product and Design.
  • Hands-on experience with agile delivery and engineering best practices.
  • Experience hiring, coaching, and performance-managing engineers.
  • Ability to make sound technical and people decisions under ambiguity.

Can have tough conversations in a positive way: It’s not a matter of if, but when difficult interpersonal situations arise.  Disagreement, conflict and disappointment are a given in a fast moving business where people care about their work.  People that proactively have tough conversations with kindness build empathy, trust and great working relationships.

About the Interview Process
The successful candidate will participate in the below interview stages. 

It might seem like a lot - but fear not - we come prepared! We anticipate the process to last no more than 3 weeks from start to finish depending on your availability.
