An Experience Designer at Autodesk is a systems thinker, a person that can argument their design point of view, a considerate collaborator, a customer advocate, and somebody who is willing and excited in leading a team to develop great customer experience. Our Experience Designers use creative problem-solving skills and knowledge in user experience best practices to facilitate their team to think beyond the expected and deliver high-quality experiences our customers will love.

Reporting to an Experience Design Manager in the Building Design Products team, you will work as part of a scrum team working on our industry-leading Building Information Modeling software, to help enable our customers to design and, model and eventually build the structural systems that support buildings, bridges, tunnels, and other structures. You will focus on designing workflows and interactions, and also relies on frequent interaction with our users to understand how they are working and how they feel about our in-progress solutions.

The Building and Infrastructure Design XD team is a worldwide design team supporting products that have more than 2 million monthly active users. Our tools are critical to our customers daily work, their effectiveness, and their business goals. Our design team members make sure we understand our customers' workflows and create experiences that help them get their work done.

The position is based in Krakow, Poland (Hybrid).

Responsibilities

  • Design workflows, interactions, and interfaces with varying levels of fidelity to communicate with peers and partners
  • Lead customer interaction in many forms, from interviews to sprint demos to usability testing
  • Use customer insights that come from analytics and customer interactions to help inform business and design decisions
  • Work with and participating in scrum team processes, working iteratively to deliver customer value
  • Maintain familiarity with Autodesk products to ensure compatibility with features shared across our product family
  • Work with a team of your fellow designers to help expand the positive impact of the experience design discipline at the team and company levels

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-5 years as Experience Designer
  • Experience doing UX/XD, HCI, or interaction design
  • Work with development teams and product managers to deliver usable and desired value to customers
  • Demonstrated examples in leading teams in problem definition and analysis, understanding customer workflows, and creating prototypes and designs that solve customer problems
  • Good communication and presentation skills - written, verbal and visual
  • Manage tasks, and set priorities with direction and feedback from partners and teammates
  • Experience with design support tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, Visio, Sketch, Invision, Figma, Balsamiq or similar
  • Knowledge or background in Architecture, Construction, and Engineering workflows with focus on Architecture or MEP domain
  • Experience running customer interviews or usability testing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience designing for complex creative applications, 3D tools, animation or visualization tools
  • Knowledge of creating cloud-based service experiences, including resiliency best practices
  • Knowledge of Autodesk software or equivalent software
  • Demonstrated ability in using customer research and feedback as the basis for design decisions
