Position Summary:
The Finance Product Owner Specialist will serve as the principal liaison and project manager between the Finance and Accounting teams (accounting, GL, AP, AR, Retail Accounting/Inventory, SAP Finance Solutions, BPC reporting, FP&A), technology development teams and Finance Reporting & analytics team (data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts). This role will own full life cycle Product strategy from concept & development to deployment and execution for Finance and drive step change improvements in operations.
This leader will lead product and future developments that drive automated decisions with data science and machine learning to improve performance in operations. This leader is responsible for managing all communications with colleagues, stakeholders, and leadership regarding all elements of their product portfolio. This leader will possess a solid understanding of software development agile practices and an understanding of data science & machine learning practices. They will also indirectly oversee teams up to 20 individuals from a project management standpoint.
Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations are Salisbury, NC; Quincy, MA; Carlisle, PA; Scarborough, ME; and Hyattsville, MD.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic product direction and prioritize development efforts for long term road map; overseeing team of 20 (including IT squad, data engineers, Q/A and third party) from a project management perspective.
- Drive the transformation of finance analytics from ad-hoc reporting and dashboard creation to a product-centric development model. Design, gather, and integrate data for comprehensive dashboard solutions.
- Shape enterprise-wide analytics strategy by guiding ADUSA and Brand partners in defining data needs and aligning on design principles to deliver high-impact, scalable dashboard solutions
- Drive alignment across cross-functional teams comprised of both business roles and technical development during the life cycle of product development. Including but not limited to Product owner peers from other domains like HR, Ecommerce, Supply Chain and Commercial.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation to support end-to-end product delivery, including scope vetting, requirements gathering, user scenarios, test cases, and design specifications, in close coordination with UX, product management, QA, and design teams.
- Establish success metrics for program features, analyze results, and partner across the organization to develop action plans and enhancement recommendations
- Serve as a strategic liaison between Brand teams and IT, acting as a spokesperson to foster alignment, translate business needs into technical solutions, and ensure seamless communication across functions, through translating Finance Reporting & analytics proof of concepts into scalable products through IT partnerships and Brands Partners.
- Supports overall IT relationships, budgeting process, prioritization, and resource allocation in collaboration with IT leads
- Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the business and support our values.
Qualifications:
- 6 years of relevant experience with bachelor's degree in business, Accounting or Supply Chain management or 8+ years relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Relevant experience would be in finance and accounting operations including SAP, FP&A and Brand Finance Operations
- 1-3 years of Project Management experience
- Strong knowledge of project management tools (Jira, Confluence), analytical techniques and analytics tools (SQL, PowerBI, Python, Microsoft Azure)
- Agile Methodology
- Knowledge of accounting terms/definitions
- Proven knowledge of data flow, dashboard design and concept and design of cloud based analytics.
- Analytics, product management, or software development experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Adaptable and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or MS in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or similar discipline preferred
- 3+ years Project management experience
