Job Title: Accounting Schematics
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accounting / Product Control professional with experience in International Banking. The role requires strong understanding of banking products, their accounting treatment, and end-to-end financial accounting processes. The candidate will work closely with Front Office, Product Control, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform financial accounting and/or product control activities for a range of international banking products.
- Ensure accurate accounting treatment of banking products in line with IFRS 9 and applicable local GAAP requirements.
- Design, document, and maintain financial accounting processes, including end-to-end transaction flows.
- Analyze and interpret transaction descriptions to ensure correct booking and reporting in financial systems.
- Support the maintenance and governance of the Chart of Accounts, ensuring consistency and accuracy across products and businesses.
- Collaborate closely with Front Office, Product Control, Risk, Finance, and Technology teams to resolve accounting and reporting issues.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, controls, and documentation quality.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, and internal control assessments as required.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in Financial Accounting, Product Control, or Front Office within International Banking.
- Solid understanding of banking products (e.g., loans, deposits, derivatives, securities) and their accounting treatment.
- Proven experience in designing and documenting financial accounting processes.
- Good understanding of transaction descriptions and their impact on accounting entries and financial reporting.
- Hands-on experience with IFRS 9 and local GAAP accounting standards.
- Strong knowledge of Chart of Accounts structures and financial systems.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA) or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in large global or regional banks.
- Exposure to regulatory reporting and audit interactions.
