The Workday Financials Data Consultant (Consultant level) supports the execution of data-related activities within Workday Financials implementations. This role focuses on assisting with data conversion tasks including data analysis, mapping, transformation, validation, and loading to ensure accurate migration of financial data into Workday.
The consultant works under the guidance of senior team members and collaborates with functional finance teams and technical resources to deliver data solutions supporting key financial processes such as accounting, suppliers, customers, assets, expenses, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Support data conversion activities across Workday Financials projects
- Assist in data profiling, cleansing, and preparation activities
- Develop and maintain data templates and mapping documentation with guidance
- Support data mapping between legacy systems and Workday financial objects
- Execute data loads using Workday EIB/Advanced Load and follow established procedures
- Perform basic data validation, reconciliation, and issue identification
- Participate in conversion testing cycles (e.g., mock loads, smoke tests)
- Track and document data issues, escalating risks and blockers as needed
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams to clarify data requirements
- Adhere to data governance standards, quality controls, and project timelines
- Foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Exposure to data migration, data analysis, or system implementation projects
- Basic understanding of financial data structures (e.g., suppliers, customers, GL balances, AP/AR)
- Proficiency in Excel (e.g., formulas, data manipulation, basic analysis)
- Familiarity with data concepts such as mapping, transformation, and validation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with structured data
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Exposure to Workday Financials or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Familiarity with tools such as SQL or data transformation tools (basic level)
- Awareness of Workday EIB or integration concepts
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field
- Progress toward or interest in an accountancy qualification
