Independently build, manage, modify, and execute increasingly complex data engineering processes and projects for the conversion and use of external digital sources in the creation and maintenance of the HERE databases and related products. Assume full accountability and ownership to successfully complete these projects
- Leverage data engineering technologies like FME, ArcGIS, Python, SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Visio, QGIS and others to transform and integrate increasingly complex data, or create products
- Ability to assess and manage risks of complex bulk ingestion efforts, realizing that as data amounts are high, risks are high
- Provide GIS and spatial data consultancy, especially focused on bulk source integration efforts
- Participate in departmental and cross-functional projects, which will help to increase efficiency, quality and/or reduce costs
- Maturing engineering and consultancy mindset with focus on value and cost efficiency. Deliver what is needed as end result (not necessarily what was requested at the beginning)
- Maintain a good understanding of relevant technologies and initiatives
- Design and apply technology in strategic and tactical ways to improve GIS Data Engineering processes, tools and scope. Use experience to recommend improvements for existing processes
- Develop broad experience of projects and processes, re-engineer new process workflows within the organization
- Act with empathy and integrity among inter-departmental peers, so that Data ingestion insight and advice reaches target
- Detect problems with data-conversion, bulk updates, or the MAP database and act on them
Who are you?
- Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of work experience or 3+ years of directly related experience
- Developed knowledge of Data Analytics and Advanced Technical Skills in ArcGIS, QGIS and FME, moderate skills Machine Learning, Python, SQL, PostgreSQL.
- Modern GIS technologies (Cloud technologies, web services and big data)
- Experience with data manipulation and transformation stored in different relational databases such as Oracle and Postgres
- Knowledge of AWS & cloud preferred.
- Experience with GitLab
- Language Skills: Fluent in English and preferably one additional foreign language.
- Ability to work independently within their discipline and support or train junior colleagues.
- Expertise in JIRA and Confluence preferred
- Understanding of Kanban framework and JIRA system
- Understanding and experience of concept of Agile Ways of Working
- Ability to distill insights & articulate an actionable point of view to non-technical audiences
