About this role

The Team:

The Global Marketing & Digital Wealth organization at BlackRock is a forward-looking, globally connected team at the center of the firm’s most high-impact priorities. We are architects of growth, working across functions and markets to unlock opportunities and accelerate outcomes for the business. In collaboration with both internal and external partners, we design the conditions for success—delivering next-generation campaigns, brand platforms, communications, training, and client experiences. Our work is powered by world-class centers of excellence spanning content strategy, research & analytics, and digital platforms & experiences.

Within Global Marketing & Digital Wealth, the Global Digital team owns and transforms BlackRock’s client-facing digital properties—including BlackRock.com, iShares.com, and Advisor Center—as well as our email marketing channels. The team brings together product, design, engineering, and digital expertise to create connected, personalized experiences that help clients discover, understand, and engage with BlackRock.

Role and Impact:

As more clients hold iShares and engage with BlackRock digitally, the quality of our client experiences matters more than ever. We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our global Digital Experiences team and help ensure that the experiences we build—guiding users through the purchase funnel, personalizing to their needs, and encouraging ongoing engagement—are reliable, accurate, and release-ready.

The successful candidate will own quality across the delivery lifecycle, from test planning and preparation through execution, automation, and CI/CD integration. They will bring a development-minded approach to testing and help evolve our QA practice toward an AI-assisted model that increases coverage and speed while reducing manual effort.

Responsibilities:

Planning

  • Understand requirements and Jira stories; create test plans, assess test automation feasibility, and estimate, schedule, and plan testing activities.
  • Use AI tools to analyze requirements and user stories, identify gaps or ambiguities early, and propose risk-based test coverage.

Test Preparation

  • Analyze and understand scenarios and application flows, and prepare test scenarios and test cases for new functionality.
  • Prepare test data and manually execute test cases to understand application flows.
  • Use AI-assisted tools to generate and refine test scenarios, test cases, and synthetic test data, applying human review to validate accuracy and completeness.

Test Execution

  • Execute new functional test cases for the current release, as well as manual and automated regression packs.
  • Log defects and retest fixed defects.
  • Apply AI to triage test failures, cluster related defects, and draft clear, reproducible defect reports.
  • Leverage AI-enabled visual, accessibility, and content checks to catch regressions across pages, markets, and devices.

Test Scripting & Integration

  • Develop test scripts according to the BlackRock framework and perform dry runs of automation scripts.
  • Integrate automation with the CI/CD pipeline and complete a full run of automated scripts.
  • Use AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate test script development, refactoring, and maintenance, including self-healing of brittle locators.
  • Help build reusable prompts, agent workflows, and standards that scale AI-assisted QA across the team, and measure their impact on coverage, cycle time, and defect leakage.

User Documentation

  • Create and update user manuals.

Core Skills:

  • Quality mindset with a development background.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to grasp complex concepts easily.
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment, fluent in English.
  • Interested in continuously extending testing know-how.
  • Curious and pragmatic about AI—applies it to improve quality and speed, while exercising sound judgment on AI-generated output.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience

  • 3-7 years of working experience in software testing or QA.
  • Technology-based university degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to assure the quality of developed software and code.
  • Experience with at least one of the following frameworks: Playwright, Cypress, or Puppeteer.
  • Experience with CI/CD environments.
  • Experience with Jira/Azure Boards, Confluence, and Git.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) in testing or development workflows.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Practical knowledge of designing and developing test automation solutions.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of TypeScript and Python for test automation, scripting, and framework development.
  • Familiarity with AI-native testing tools, Playwright MCP, or agent-based test generation and execution.
  • Experience testing AI-powered features (e.g., chatbots or generative content), including evaluation of output accuracy and consistency.
